Convicts went on hunger strike in a colony in the Irkutsk region

In the city of Angarsk, Irkutsk Region, four convicts in correctional colony No. 2 went on a hunger strike.

According to Interfax, citing the press service of the main department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the region, on December 12 and 13, the convicts refused to eat in a single cell-type room. They explained their protest action by disagreement with the regime requirements.

Now the convicts drink water and tea.

At the same time, a representative of the FSIN denied information in the media that the colony officers used physical force against the convicts.

IK-2 is a strict regime colony for those convicted of serious crimes for the first time. In a single chamber-type room, “persistent violators” of the regime are kept.

We add, on the eve it became known about a fight in another penal colony in the Irkutsk region. As a result of the “domestic conflict”, several convicts in IK-6 were injured. In social networks, they write that the prisoners could have been beaten by the security forces themselves. Earlier in this colony there have already been cases of cruel bullying – in particular, Takhirzhon Bakiyev was raped by inmates with a mop.
