The Russian rhythmic gymnastics team will never again compete at international competitions without the flag and national anthem. This was stated by the President of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and head coach of the national team, Irina Viner, TASS reports.

“Until recently, we in Europe could only claim one place at the Olympics. But why is it needed? Without a flag, without an anthem, without communication, without fans, in a special uniform, to special music that would be selected for rhythmic gymnastics,” the coach noted, adding that it would be a shame.

“I think this will be very humiliating for Russia. But Russian rhythmic gymnastics will definitely not go there, and we will never again perform without the flag and anthem of Russia,” said Wiener.

Let us remind you that the IOC previously announced that Russian athletes will be allowed to the Olympics in Paris in a neutral status. In this case, the criteria will apply under which the athlete will be allowed to compete. Only those athletes who have managed to qualify in their sports will be allowed to participate in the games; in this case, the athlete will undergo selections individually. The IOC also clarifies that Russian athletes will not participate in team competitions. Eligible athletes will compete under a neutral flag and anthem. Finally, there will be a ban on participation for those who actively support the military operation in Ukraine and are related to the army or other security forces.
