In Russia, all pensioners will be exempt from the housing and communal services commission. This decision was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Izvestia newspaper writes, citing the deputy head of the United Russia faction in the lower house of parliament, Andrei Isaev.
He clarified that at a meeting with the leaders of the State Duma factions, the leader of the country confirmed that there would no longer be a commission for paying housing and communal services for all pensioners. At the same time, at first Putin called his own words that all pensioners, and not just beneficiaries, would be exempt from the commission as a “reservation”. But then he added that the government would do so. As a result, the measure will apply to all pensioners.
“In fact, the decision was made in relation to preferential categories of citizens. We proceeded from the fact that pensioners, as a rule, are all beneficiaries. But that’s not all. But since I said “pensioners,” after that, we will assume that I misspoke, the government decided to extend this decision, to extend this norm to all pensioners,” Putin noted, as quoted by RBC.
It was previously reported that the Russian Federation wants to abolish the commission only for those in need.
The day before, Russians were also warned about rising prices for utilities.
