Putin and Biden entered into an absentee dispute

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the words of American leader Joe Biden, who announced Russia’s interest in a possible war with NATO.

“This is complete nonsense. I think that President Biden understands this, this is just a figure of speech in order to justify his erroneous policy in the Russian direction,” Putin noted, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

He added that the United States is unlikely to be interested in inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, taking into account the prospects for global development. Putin also expressed doubt that this is in the national interests of the United States itself.

Putin added that Russia also has “no reasons, no interest—neither geopolitical interest, nor economic, nor political, nor military” to fight with NATO countries. According to him, Moscow has no desire to spoil relations. “Who do we have any problems with? Not with anyone. It is they who are artificially creating problems with us, because they do not want to have such a competitor in Russia,” Putin noted and added that the United States will have to find common ground with Russia. “We will have to be taken into account,” the president emphasized.

Earlier, in early December, Biden, addressing the US Congress, said that “if Putin takes Ukraine, he will not stop there.” He suggested that the Russian Federation is “attacking NATO allies.” And if Ukraine is not helped, the Russian Federation will receive “the greatest gift it can hope for,” and the United States will lose global leadership.
