In Moscow, from December 24, parking rates will change on 14% of streets in Moscow, on 53 streets in the center the cost of parking will increase to 450 rubles, but on 29 streets it will decrease. According to the capital’s department of transport, the changes will affect parking lots, which have a very high load.
On 53 streets in the center with the busiest parking lots (on Bolshaya Nikitskaya and Neglinnaya streets, Teatralnaya square and others), a new tariff will be set: from 8 am to 9 pm – 450 rubles per hour, from 9 pm to 8 am – 200 rubles per hour (including Sunday).
“This is a necessary measure: the current cost does not allow keeping even a few vacant seats on a permanent basis, because there are too many expensive restaurants and shops,” the department said. And they added that local residents cannot park in front of their houses, and also have to endure the noise from the stream of cars right under the windows. The department believes that the new tariff will help free up to 10-15% of seats.
The changes will also affect two overcrowded parking lots with a barrier on Novy Arbat. On the first section in the daytime, the cost will be 450 rubles per hour, on the second – 400 rubles.
In addition, it was decided to reduce tariffs on 29 streets, which will redirect car flows and balance the congestion of parking lots. On Nikoloyamskaya Street, in Podkolokolny Lane, Alexander Nevsky Street and a number of others, instead of 380 rubles per hour, a cheaper differentiated tariff will be introduced, and on Sundays it will be possible to park for free.
We will remind, earlier the head of the project “Traffic.Net” Alexander Shumsky said that Moscow should once again revise the cost of parking on the streets of the capital. The cost of an hour of parking in Moscow is becoming less and less sensitive, the auto expert believes, and therefore it is difficult to find a free space even in parking lots with a tariff of 380 rubles per hour. “Closer to the New Year, there are many who want to come to the shops by car. If there is also a metro station or a large TPU near the shopping center, it becomes quite bad in terms of parking, ”Shumsky wrote. The expert came up with a proposal to raise parking prices on the busiest streets, and to lower prices in areas where there are empty spaces.
