To achieve deep old age, you need to give up one type of food or reduce its consumption to a minimum, nutrition experts say.
To live as long as possible, you need to eat minimal amounts of ultra-processed food, says nutritionist Jennifer Scheinman, RD. “Ultra-processed “junk” foods should be limited in the diet, especially those with highly refined grains and filled with added sweeteners. These products have very low nutritional value, but are very tasty, so they are difficult to eat in moderation,” the expert noted.
The nutritionist emphasized that we are talking, in particular, about products such as sweets, including candies, chips and carbonated drinks. The doctor added that such products cannot be part of the diet of a person who wants to live a long life, writes the sports.kz portal.
American nutritionist Kerry Hawkins agreed that for longevity it is necessary to give up ultra-processed foods. According to the doctor, such products are usually high in saturated fat, salt, additives, in particular, preservatives, sweeteners, colors and artificial flavors. “There is observational evidence that consuming four servings per day of ultra-processed foods is associated with a 62% increased risk of all-cause mortality compared with a lower intake of less than two servings per day,” she said.
