Putin: Nord Streams were most likely blown up by the Americans

We didn’t close the gas pipelines, we didn’t blow up the Nord Streams, most likely, the Americans did it or at their instigation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during summing up the results of the year in a combined direct line format and a large press conference in Gostiny Dvor.

Putin called “complete nonsense” the accusations that it was the Russian Federation that reduced gas supplies to Europe. Gazprom is a reliable partner, which is why it continues to fulfill its obligations to supply gas to Europe, the president noted.

Russia never does anything for political reasons regarding gas supplies and does not intend to do so, the president said

The total number of questions submitted to the president was about 2.5 million. As the Kremlin explained, all requests will be answered; those that do not go live will be processed over the next year. Most of the questions Russians have, as the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said, relate to the SVO and social policy.

Previously, the combined format of a direct line and a large press conference was used in 2020: the coronavirus pandemic did not allow holding events separately. In 2022, the direct line and press conference were not held.
