For the first time since the end of November, prices for AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline showed an increase at auction. Previously, there was a seven-day drop in fuel prices. These changes were recorded in the SPbMTSB report, writes Pravda.Ru.
According to the data, the price of AI-92 gasoline increased by 0.8%, reaching 41,964 rubles per ton. This type of fuel last showed growth on November 30. In the following days, its price decreased. Also, the price of AI-95 gasoline increased by 0.6% and amounted to 46,620 rubles per ton.
Summer diesel fuel also experienced an increase in cost – by 1.08%, reaching 54,149 rubles per ton. It should be noted that the price of off-season diesel fuel increased by 2.2%, amounting to 53,728 rubles per ton. Winter diesel also rose in price by 0.43%, its cost was 69,531 rubles.
Grigory Bazhenov, an analyst from the Center for the Independent Fuel Union, shared his observations in an interview with Pravda. Ru and noted that the current drop in prices is due to seasonal factors. He explained that demand for fuel decreases in December as agricultural work ends, industrial demand for petroleum products decreases, and transportation volumes decrease due to the approaching winter.
“The decline in demand is also associated with an increase in personal fuel costs, but this does not significantly affect the overall picture. On the other hand, supply is at an increased level, as many companies are releasing storage capacity before the New Year and the start of a new production cycle,” the expert emphasized.
Bazhenov also expressed doubt that changes in the fuel market will affect retail gasoline prices. There is an active development of loyalty programs that provide consumers with discounts when refueling for a certain amount.
