Yuri Zdravilo and Vitaly Likuchev have been proposed to be found guilty of particularly large-scale fraud, the newspaper notes. Both were detained in the fall of 2020 while receiving a bribe of 7.4 million rubles. from Alexander Talanov, the general director of a company that produces life-size 3D models of tanks. From the air or at a great distance, it is almost impossible to distinguish copies from combat vehicles, according to the manufacturer, the media adds.
According to investigators, Talanov allegedly paid money not for specific contracts, but for general patronage, in order to eventually become the only supplier of camouflage equipment to the troops.
Zdravilo and Likuchev themselves insist that they were victims of provocation. According to them, at the time of their arrest they were retired reserve officers and did not perform any functions in the military department.
RBC writes that the demand for inflatable military equipment has increased after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. According to the Associated Press, the Czech company Inflatech, which produces over 30 types of inflatable military baits, increased production by more than 30% in 2022.
