Teenagers’ part-time work will not be taken into account when assigning a single benefit

When assigning a single benefit, part-time work for minors will no longer be taken into account, as well as payments for the title “Mother Heroine,” Interfax reports with reference to a message from the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.

Also, interest on the accounts of the child under guardianship and payments for awarding the order and medal of the Order of Parental Glory will not be taken into account.

The rules for assigning benefits to the self-employed will also change. For those citizens for whom self-employment is the only source of income, benefits will be assigned only if the annual income from self-employment does not exceed two times the minimum wage. The department explained that this rule does not apply to those who already have a permanent job and use self-employment as an additional source of income.

The Ministry of Labor recalled that from January 1, 2023, a single benefit will be awarded to families with children and pregnant women with income below the subsistence level using a comprehensive assessment of need. The amount of the benefit for each child under the age of 17 is 50, 75 or 100% of the regional subsistence minimum for children or the regional subsistence minimum for an able-bodied citizen if the benefit is assigned to pregnant women.

The department noted that since the beginning of the year, benefits have been provided to the parents of about 10.3 million children and 360 thousand pregnant women.
