Russians were invited to St. Petersburg for the New Year holidays

Residents of Russian regions were offered to spend the upcoming New Year holidays in St. Petersburg. Many events are planned for the holidays in the Northern capital, the Smolny press service reported.

Chairman of the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee Sergei Korneev called the New Year holidays in the city on the Neva “an impeccable decision.” According to him, Russian regions have already launched an information campaign about tourism opportunities in St. Petersburg during the New Year holidays.

Thus, on media facades, digital screens and on transport infrastructure facilities in the cities of the Altai Territory, Voronezh, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Omsk, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk and Yaroslavl regions, as well as the republics of Udmurtia, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, Krasnodar Territory, Perm Territory , Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug will show relevant videos.

Smolny also said that this year New Year’s fairs will appear on three main squares of the city – Manezhnaya, Dvortsovaya and Moskovskaya. Visitors to Nikolskie Ryad and New Holland will be treated to Christmas treats. Festive events are planned in the Peter and Paul Fortress, Kronstadt and in the Island of Forts park.
