“This is already fraught”: Russians were advised not to store New Year’s salads

It is advisable not to store New Year’s salads, or to do it with caution, since this is a good breeding ground for bacteria, nutritionist Elena Solomatina warned in an interview with Lente.ru.

According to the expert, seasoned salads are kept in the refrigerator for about 12 hours on average. “It can stand in the refrigerator until morning, but few people get up in the morning after New Year’s Eve, God forbid, by evening, and this is already fraught,” the nutritionist said. – Everything will depend on the sensitivity of the organism. A healthy adult organism may be able to cope, but an elderly or a child’s organism may not be able to cope, so why create an extra load on our body after New Year’s Eve? “

At the same time, the specialist gave several tips that will allow you to avoid unpleasant consequences when you want to please yourself with a salad the next day after the New Year. Firstly, Solomatina noted, it is necessary to keep track of salads on New Year’s Eve, put them in the refrigerator if the family is going for a walk, and not leave them on the table.

Secondly, the nutritionist recommends, you should put the salads in the refrigerator overnight without refueling, then they will definitely stand until the morning. “If a person wants to leave the salad the next day, ideally, you need to boil the vegetables in advance, and the next day, quickly cut them, fill them with dressing and serve,” the expert advises.

We will remind, earlier the nutritionist Margarita Koroleva spoke about the unpleasant consequences of eating salads from the New Year’s table. She is convinced that this practice should be left in the past.

“There is no shortage of food now. We can bribe something every day to make it fresh, “Koroleva told the Moscow agency, stressing that eating stale salads can weaken the immune system. “Already standing lettuce can lead to a dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract, often even to poisoning,” said the nutritionist, explaining that the state of immune function is 80% determined by the state of the intestinal microbiome.
