Over the course of 24 hours, dozens of drones attacked Russian regions. According to the Ministry of Defense, a total of 20 drones were destroyed.
Thus, 11 drones were shot down over the Moscow, Tula, Kaluga and Bryansk regions. A little later, 9 more UAVs were circling over the same regions.
All drones were shot down by air defense systems.
The drones were spotted in different areas of the Moscow region: in the Naro-Fominsk area, in the Odintsovo and Ramensky urban districts, as well as in Podolsk. According to the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, 5 UAVs were intercepted in the region, with three cases of “damage to buildings on the ground.” Three UAVs were shot down in Tula, with one of them crashing into an apartment building, Governor Alexey Dyumin said. As a result, one person received a cut wound, and the glazing of three apartments was damaged.
In the Kaluga region, four drones were shot down over the Karachevsky and Bryansk regions, noted the head of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz. And in the Kaluga region, drones circled over the territory of the Dzerzhinsky and Zhukovsky districts. The drones were destroyed, Governor Vladislav Shapsha said.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin called what was happening “an attempt at a mass attack.” Amid the attacks at Moscow airports, more than 15 flights were delayed and cancelled. Thus, eight flights were delayed to Vnukovo, three to Domodedovo, and two to Sheremetyevo. Three more flights were canceled to Domodedovo, according to data from the Yandex Schedules service.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military noted the day before that the country was struck by a record number of kamikaze drones.
