Drones are again attacking the capital region, with drones now flying in from the east. The attacks will continue on Russian cities, including Moscow, and will be massive, says the director of the Air Defense Forces Museum, military expert Yuri Knutov, writes MK.
In his opinion, the enemy is actively probing the weak points of the defense, as evidenced by the latest attacks on the Bogorodsky urban district and Elektrostal. At the same time, if previously drones flew into Russian territory, as a rule, from the south and west, now drones fly from the east.
The day before, drones were shot down in the Bogorodsky urban district of the Moscow region, as well as in Elektrostal. It is likely that the targets were military targets and, perhaps, an attempt was made to break through to Moscow.
Knutov believes that the enemy is looking for weak points, probing Moscow’s air defense system. “The attacks will not just happen, but will be massive,” the expert is sure. He recalled that earlier in Ukraine they announced the start of production of Shahid-type drones with a range of up to 1 thousand kilometers. “They will actively use these and other modern drones for attacks throughout Russian territory, including energy infrastructure facilities,” Knutov suggests.
At the same time, another military expert, Mikhail Zelenkov, explained why drones manage to fly to Moscow. In his opinion, new drones are created from materials that help hide from radar – technologies made from such material are not displayed on devices. According to Zelenkov, it is likely that “the drones are launched not from Ukraine, but from the territory of Russia by sabotage groups,” he is quoted by Radio 1.
Experts believe that in such conditions it is necessary to “create an air defense line, which should start from the Sea of Azov, go along the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk regions, and then extend to St. Petersburg,” as well as make radar stations on tethered balloons that can detect drones and cruise missiles at long range.
