Russia does not plan to lift the ban on the export of winter diesel fuel, and the possibility of further weakening this measure regarding summer diesel is being discussed in the government. Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov told reporters about this, TASS reports.
“There is no talk of completely lifting the ban on the export of petroleum products; we do not plan to lift the ban on winter diesel fuel. In summer, the issue is resolved,” he said. At the same time, Shulginov noted that the protective duty for companies that do not produce petroleum products continues to apply. “If it had not acted, there would have been no requests from various companies to be excluded from this list,” the minister added.
From September 21, the Russian government introduced a temporary restriction on the export of gasoline and diesel to stabilize the domestic market. The ban was introduced indefinitely, its duration depended on market saturation and the results of this measure. Then the restrictions were partially lifted.
The Russian government decided to lift the temporary ban on the export of motor gasoline, introduced on September 21 as part of a set of measures to stabilize the price situation on the domestic motor fuel market, as of November 17.
