State Duma deputies have prepared legislative initiatives aimed at protecting children. One of them provides for a ban on the adoption of children by citizens of countries where gender can be changed, said the head of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Vasily Piskarev, a post published in his Telegram.
“The bill provides for the introduction of a ban on the adoption of children by foreigners who are citizens of countries where gender reassignment is allowed (and this is the vast majority of NATO countries),” Piskarev wrote. He added that if such restrictions are not introduced, then there is no guarantee that “after adoption, a child will not be raised in a same-sex family due to the parents’ gender change.”
Another project, according to Piskarev, provides for mandatory molecular genetic examination when restoring the parental rights of foreign citizens in relation to their children who are without parental care in the territory of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Lugansk regions. In his opinion, the examination will help us prevent children from falling into the hands of criminals.
These bills were prepared within the framework of a working group in which Piskarev is a co-chairman. The group is headed by State Duma Vice Speaker Anna Kuznetsova.
