A powerful tornado struck the southeast and center of the United States: dozens of victims (photo, video)

Severe hurricanes accompanied by tornadoes struck several states in the southeast and central United States. According to Reuters, the death toll could presumably exceed 100.

The state of Kentucky was hit hardest, especially the city of Mainfield, where a natural disaster collapsed the roof of a candle factory while there were about 110 people inside.

According to various sources, at least 50 people died in Kentucky. In addition, the hurricane derailed a CSX freight train in the western state. A state of emergency has been declared there. The National Guard is involved in the search for people and the elimination of the consequences.

There are also casualties and destruction in Arkansas, Illinois and Tennessee. According to AFP, at least one person was killed and five were injured when a tornado destroyed the roof of a nursing home in Monette in northern Arkansas.

In Illinois, a tornado destroyed an Amazon warehouse near St. Louis – rescuers are worried about the fate of about a hundred employees. Three people are believed to have died in Tennessee.
