Gastroenterologist Ekaterina Kashukh explained what can be eaten by people whose blood tests have revealed elevated cholesterol levels.
According to her, fatty meat is taboo for such patients. When consumed, you can quickly increase your cholesterol levels. In this regard, the doctor recommends choosing lean varieties of meat and giving preference to a cooking method such as boiling or steaming.
“To reduce the level of low-density lipoproteins, you should eat no more than 85 grams of any meat per day,” Kashukh clarified in an interview with Pravda.ru.
The gastroenterologist called for people with high cholesterol to give up sausages and sausages, as well as egg yolks. In addition, Kashuh considers it important to reduce the amount of alcohol or not drink alcoholic beverages in case of such a problem. At the same time, she advises not to forget about mono- and polyunsaturated fats, which are found in large quantities in seafood and vegetable oil.
“To reduce high cholesterol levels, you need to have carbohydrates in your diet. In addition to vegetables, many of which can be eaten raw, without heat treatment, these include legumes and cereals,” the specialist added.
Previously, doctor Kashuh said that buns and sweets can actually be “healthy.”
