Almost 20 freight train cars derailed in the Russian region

Near Ryazan, 19 freight cars derailed as a result of “interference by unauthorized persons in the operation of railway transport.” This was reported by the press service of Moscow Railways.

The emergency occurred at 07:12 on Saturday, November 11, on the Rybnoye – Checkpoint section. The Moscow Railways noted that the incident did not disrupt the schedule of passenger and commuter trains. In addition, they assured that there was no threat to the environment. To eliminate the consequences of the derailment, recovery trains were dispatched from the stations Rybnoye, Voskresensk, and Ryazan, the Moscow Railways added.

In turn, the press service of the Western Interregional Transport Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that investigators and criminologists went to the Ryazan region to clarify the circumstances of the carriage derailment. They clarified that 15 carriages of the freight train derailed.

As a result of the incident, two people were injured – the driver and the driver’s assistant. They are provided with medical assistance.

A pre-investigation check has been organized into the incident on the railway.

According to a REN TV source, as a result of the incident, the carriages turned over on their side and the railway track was damaged. According to Telegram channel “112”, writes “MK”, a freight train crash in the Ryazan region occurred after an explosion.

Earlier it was reported that a diesel locomotive with two cars derailed in Transbaikalia.
