The nutritionist dispelled the myth that you can’t eat after six in the evening

The last evening meal plays an important role in healthy eating, said nutritionist Maryana Dzhutova. However, the widespread rule “do not eat after 18:00” does not correspond to the real state of affairs, the doctor emphasized.

The last meal should occur 3-4 hours before bedtime. Therefore, if you go to bed later than 22:00, you should have dinner no later than 20:30, when the biorhythms of the human body are “tuned” to work in night mode, reports State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Vyatka. And the rule that you can’t eat after 6 p.m. applies only to those who go to bed at 10 p.m., the doctor emphasized.

Dzhutova also recalled that a person’s diet should contain a variety of foods so that the body receives all the elements it needs. Proper nutrition is based on the principle of reasonable sufficiency, the specialist emphasized. People often eliminate fat from their diet by eating low-fat dairy products, yogurt and sour cream. This diet deprives the body of important fat-soluble vitamins. The main condition for a healthy, balanced diet that provides the body with all the necessary substances is a uniform supply of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and macro- and micronutrients, the expert explained.
