More than 1.7 thousand trucks are waiting to pass through the Polish-Ukrainian border in both directions at three checkpoints “Yagodin-Dorogusk”, “Krakovets-Korchova” and “Rava Ruska – Hrebene”, Interfax reports with reference to the State Border Service of Ukraine.
The passage of cars through these three points is limited due to protests from Polish carriers demanding stricter rules for the work of Ukrainian carriers on the EU market.
In particular, in the middle of the day on November 9, a queue of 510 trucks formed at the entrance to Ukraine in Krakovets – Polish border guards let through approximately 1-2 cars per hour. Congestion of vehicles leaving Ukraine at this checkpoint has not yet been recorded.
In “Rava Russkaya” the situation is somewhat different, since the movement of trucks is difficult in both directions – both entry and exit; there are 410 trucks in queues in both directions. The Polish side allows a maximum of 2 trucks per hour.
At the Yagodin checkpoint, the movement of trucks is also difficult both at entry and exit; a queue of 810 trucks has formed.
“There are no complications regarding the movement of humanitarian aid, fuel, dangerous and perishable goods to enter Ukraine, and categories such as cars and buses cross the state border in both directions at these checkpoints as usual,” the State Border Service clarified.
The association of agricultural producers “All-Ukrainian Agrarian Rada” (VAR) notes that traffic restrictions at three checkpoints lead to downtime of trucks with Ukrainian grain and additional losses for producers.
