In my previous column, I commented that Twitter screamers were silent in the face of the disaster of their latest crusading hero.
I am mistaken.
Only one slip of ‘twitter’ incontinence of the former supreme owner of the Republic, physically self-exiled, but omnipresent in the national environment, both by 48% of the country, who still vote for him, and by the wet dreams of his detractors (who are more on mind than his own followers, even if they blame him for everything bad that is happening in Ecuador), so social networks and classified media are burning in the fire of fortune tellers, inexperienced geniuses of politics and public affairs., all of them, very honest, patriots, democrats and selfless defenders of all existing morals.
Then came the warnings and punishments. That President Daniel Noboa owes the vote against Correismo, so be careful when making deals with Correismo. That the PSC will reissue a pact with Koreaism (a pact that only exists in their imagination). And so, a few theories that I’d rather not list out of respect for your time and patience, dear reader.
The bottom line is that many of these “heroes” who actively pushed for the dissolution of the CREO-PSC-RC agreement in May 2021 have already gotten their luck, even with the possibility of the new government achieving governability (which President Guillermo Lasso renounced, or believed to will have with Llori and Saquicel) that the country needs so much and, with that, the government does not “need” them, they are looking for more: consulting services, public positions, advertising, advertising, etc. Everything works. And let the country go to hell, again. After all, they are not “politicians” nor do they rule.
The truth is that they know everything to end all the evils in the country. The only thing they need is victory in the elections.
They are simply the owners of the truth. Those who turn the light on and off. Those who say what the president should say and when. Who to meet, and who not to meet. Which complaint needs proof and which doesn’t. Who should be investigated and who should not be investigated. Who is corrupt and who is naive. Who is allowed to sin and who is not. Which news is relevant and which is not. Which media is serious and which is not.
The truth is that they know everything to end all the evils in the country. The only thing they need is victory in the elections. But the country is not ready for them. Ignorant, they will say.
Ecuador is sick, yes. Not only because of the violence that took over the country, nor because of the economy, which, according to the president-elect himself, would not be so good or overwhelmed, as we were told so much, but on the contrary, on the brink of possible bankruptcy, due to the non-mediation of multilateral aid.
And because many voices that defended democracy and freedom in the past, regardless of who was the aggressor, are today more busy satisfying their hatred or pleasing their patrons.
From this column, we hope that President Nobo makes the best decisions for the country, according to his own criteria, and not because of the pressure of those who do not represent the country. (OR)
