“Coronavirus is coming back”: Russians were warned about the “beginning of an epidemic” in the country

Russia is facing a new wave of COVID-19 cases. This was stated by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, speaking during the government hour at the Federation Council, Interfax reports.

“Today’s weekly registration is 35-36 thousand. And this is twice as much as a month ago,” Popova emphasized. According to her data, 30% of all Russians infected with the infection are in Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor added that the second autumn wave of coronavirus turned out to be more powerful than the September one, and it will continue to spread throughout the country. The situation is regarded as the beginning of an epidemic, the beginning of a rise, Popova warned.

At the same time, she noted that there is no need for vaccination. “Today the risks are such that we do not require or offer to be immunized against Covid this season,” Popova said. She clarified that the risk of complications from the illness and death allows one to refuse vaccination. At the same time, Popova drew attention to the need for flu vaccination.

The day before, the operational headquarters announced an increase in the incidence of Covid in the Russian Federation by 31.7%.

Previously, doctors admitted that vaccinations against Covid no longer protect. Virologists later explained why the Sputnik vaccine, with which millions of Russians were vaccinated, turned out to be ineffective.
