At the same time, the specialist emphasized that it is worth choosing a product that contains nuts and dried fruits or dark chocolate, since these additives are sources of antioxidants.
“Typically, cookies are made of white flour with added sugar and fat. White flour and sugar create a high carbohydrate load on the body. Also in cookies <…> hydrogenated oils are often added, which contain trans isomers, and these are very harmful fats,” the doctor warned.
Solntseva emphasized that cookies can improve mood and give energy, but it is better to choose the least harmful options. So, in the first half of the day you can eat one or two cookies with butter. According to the doctor, such food will be healthier than cakes with cream. You can also make your own dessert at home by reducing the amount of sugar and fat. The nutritionist advised adding dried fruits, nuts or fruit puree to cookies, and using a mixture of banana pulp, whole grain cereals and seeds as a dough.
