Ángel Manobanda, 46, died of a stab wound in the back. His ex-wife would have injured him after they argued last Friday night at his home, located in the rural parish La Unión de Babahoyo, in Los Ríos. The woman was also attacked.
The victim, who worked as a master welder, was taken to a nearby health home, but did not resist.
While his ex-wife, identified as Elisa C., is stable in a hospital in Babahoyo. She recovers from the fourteen superficial stab wounds she allegedly received from her ex-husband during the argument.
Witnesses of the fact assured that the woman was the one who allegedly caused the injury to Manobanda’s back, as a defense mechanism against the attacks of which she was being a victim.

Other neighbors, on the other hand, commented that the man attacked the woman and later he himself would have injured himself with the knife on his back. It would be, according to the residents, an attempt to femicide and subsequent suicide of the perpetrator.
The versions of the witnesses are being investigated by the Police, since the death of the man is unclear. So far, the relatives of the ex-husbands have refused to comment on this fact.
