Mash: Yuri Solomin is in intensive care in serious condition

The artistic director of the Maly Theater Yuri Solomin is in intensive care. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a source in the hospital. According to him, the condition of the 88-year-old cultural figure is assessed as serious.

As MK writes with reference to the Mash Telegram channel, the artist was confirmed to have a stroke. The material clarifies that on the day of hospitalization Solomin showed signs of a stroke – weakness in his left arm, he became dizzy and had difficulty speaking.

It is known that Solomin suffers from severe hypertension, diabetes and atherosclerosis, and 10 years ago he underwent coronary artery bypass surgery.

Earlier it was reported that Yuri Solomin fell unconscious on the street in the center of Moscow after he left the house and took a few steps. It was noted that his stroke was not confirmed.

Yuri Solomin has been the artistic director of the Maly Theater since 1988, and has performed in such productions as Cyrano de Bergerac, The Humiliated and Insulted, The Living Corpse, and Woe from Wit. In films, he is known for his roles as Captain Koltsov from “His Excellency’s Adjutant,” Ivan Telegin from “The Tribulation,” Heinrich Eisenstein from “Die Fledermaus,” and KGB officer Slavin from “TASS Is Authorized to Declare.”
