Iran demands to disarm Israel “before it’s too late”

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian called on the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to take urgent measures to disarm Israel.

In his message on social networks, the minister commented on the words of the far-right Minister of Heritage Amichai Eliyahu (Jewish Power Party), who admitted the possibility of a nuclear strike on the Gaza Strip, RBC reports.

“The statement by the Israeli minister about the use of atomic bombs shows the real inability of the regime to counter the resistance. The UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency must take immediate action to disarm this barbaric and apartheid regime. Tomorrow will be late. Full responsibility for this genocide lies with the White House,” Abdollahian wrote.

Eliyahu’s statement was also condemned by the UAE Foreign Ministry. “The UAE strongly condemns the shameful and unacceptable statements of the Israeli government’s Minister of Heritage, Amichai Eliyahu, regarding the dropping of a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip,” the statement said. The UAE regards his words as “incitement to serious violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes”, considers the use of nuclear weapons unacceptable and calls for a ceasefire.

Earlier, Eliyahu, in an interview, answering the question of whether a nuclear bomb should be dropped on the Gaza Strip, said: “This is one of the possibilities.” The minister is not a member of the war cabinet formed to make decisions in wartime, and has no influence on it.
