If Washington does not end the war and establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the United States will face a “heavy blow.” This was stated by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Al Arabiya reports.
“Our advice to the Americans is to immediately end the war between Israel and Hamas, and also ensure a ceasefire, otherwise you will receive a heavy blow,” the general said, as quoted by RBC.
Ashtiani had previously accused the United States of directly interfering in Hamas’s war with Israel, noting that Washington, by siding with Tel Aviv in the conflict, made a strategic mistake and “will definitely suffer.”
In addition, the day before, Iranian authorities threatened Israel with serious consequences if it launched a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
Let us recall that the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict began on October 7 after Hamas rocket attacks on Israeli territory and the capture of a number of settlements bordering the Gaza Strip. It was reported that more than 1,400 Israelis were killed, most of them civilians. Hamas militants also took a large number of hostages. According to Gaza’s health ministry, more than 9,000 people have been killed in the strip since Israeli bombing began. According to WHO, 40% of the dead were children. Currently, the Gaza Strip is blocked – there is no electricity, no Internet, and the supply of heat and water has been interrupted.
