On National Unity Day, a large-scale exposition of St. Petersburg opened at VDNKh as part of the international exhibition and forum “Russia”. Already on the first day of work, the modern multimedia space into which the Peter and Paul Fortress became available became available to visitors. The main art object is a detailed copy of the Palace Bridge, which was raised on the opening day.
The exhibition is based on the concept of the “St. Petersburg Cinema”. One of the parts of the stand will be permanent – it is dedicated to the main achievements of the city in economics, culture, and science at the present stage. Among them are the Scarlet Sails festival, the Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, Gazprom Arena, the tallest skyscraper in Europe Lakhta Center, Western High-Speed Diameter, other unique projects, as well as medical and scientific developments and innovative technologies.
“New popular attractions have not been forgotten either. Presidential cluster “Kronstadt – Island of Forts” with a museum and historical park. “New Holland” and other objects of the new tourist geography of St. Petersburg,” said city governor Alexander Beglov.
Another part of the exhibition will change depending on the theme season. There are 16 of them: the exhibition started with the historical week; in the future, visitors will be able to get acquainted with multimedia projects and interactive shows of the maritime, environmental, youth, transport, space and other weeks.
The main topics of the historical week, which will last until November 12, will be the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great and the 320th anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg. Guests of the stand will learn about the great past of the city, its contribution to the formation of Russia, historical figures associated with it, as well as the cultural traditions of the Northern capital.
The St. Petersburg stand consists of 90% multimedia and interactive solutions: visitors to the exhibition will be able to walk around the autumn city, find themselves on the frozen Neva in winter, in the blooming Catherine Garden. In the “Scarlet Sails” street photo zone, another multimedia installation will tell about the history of the holiday, which will allow you to immerse yourself in its magical atmosphere.
