The Investigative Committee opened a case against a native of Melitopol due to an attempt to poison aviation school graduates

In the Krasnodar Territory, a criminal case of terrorism has been opened against a 33-year-old native of Melitopol due to an attempt to poison graduates of the Armavir Higher Military Aviation Red Banner Pilot School, the Investigative Committee reports.

According to investigators, the suspect “organized the delivery of alcoholic goods and confectionery, which contained a medical drug in large toxic doses, for consumption.” He was detained and then arrested, RBC reports.

The case is being investigated under paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code (punishment under this part of the article is imprisonment for a term of 15 to 20 years or life imprisonment).

Earlier, the court arrested the alleged accomplice in the attempt to poison the pilots in Armavir, Yegor Semenov, for 15 days under the article of petty hooliganism for using obscene language and waving his arms in the street.

An assassination attempt on graduates of the Armavir Higher Military School occurred on October 21, when they celebrated the 20th anniversary of graduating from the school in one of the Armavir restaurants; 77 people were present at the celebration. According to investigators, Semyonov, as a courier, brought a 20-kilogram cake and boxes of Jameson whiskey to the restaurant, explaining that this was a gift from one of the graduates who himself could not come. The courier did not provide the name of the sender and quickly left, which seemed suspicious to the participants of the celebration. They did not try the cake and reported what happened to the FSB.

According to the security forces, the cake and whiskey were poisoned, and the assassination attempt on the pilots was carried out by members of the Security Service of Ukraine.
