The Russian who passed off the murder of a girl as suicide received 11 years in prison

In Lyubertsy, near Moscow, a sentence was passed on a 37-year-old local resident who killed his girlfriend with a shot in the head and tried to pass it off as suicide.

The man, as reported by the press service of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region, was found guilty by the court of murder and illegal weapons trafficking. It all happened on the evening of February 25, 2022, when a 27-year-old girl came home to her lover. During the quarrel, the accused grabbed a homemade pistol and shot the girl in the head. She died on the spot from her wound.

When investigators arrived at an apartment in Lyubertsy to examine the body of a girl with a gunshot wound to the head, the accused tried to assure them that she had committed suicide while he was sleeping.

However, during the inspection of the scene, criminologists came to the conclusion that the girl was killed, and they tried to pass off the crime as suicide. Based on the results of the examination, it was established that her boyfriend was involved in the murder. After this he was detained.

As a result, the court sentenced the Russian to 11 years in prison to be served in a maximum security colony, the regional Investigative Committee added.
