Clubs from Russia took the first three places on the podium of the II Moscow International Beach Soccer Cup 2023, the successor to the Mundialito World Club Beach Soccer Championship.

The winner of the tournament was the Moscow club Lokomotiv. The Cup participants were divided into two subgroups. In Group A, I and II places were taken by CSKA and Spartak from Moscow, Moghavemat Golsapush from Iran was in III, and Olympic Reserve Center from Belarus was in IV. In group BI, the Moscow club Lokomotiv retained their place, Brest-Volga from Belarus took second place, Joff from Senegal took third place, and Malaysary from Kazakhstan took fourth place.

The tournament was organized by the Moscow Sports Department with the support of Russian Railways and dedicated to the celebration of the centenary of Moscow sports. PFC Lokomotiv became the organizer of the sports part of the tournament for the second time in a row.

This year, among the participants are teams from foreign countries, including Senegal. And this is very relevant: at the recent Russia-Africa forum, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin proposed expanding cooperation with African countries in the field of elite sports. PFC Lokomotiv, as the sports organizer of the tournament, put this initiative into practice.

Russia was represented by the Moscow clubs Spartak, Lokomotiv, and CSKA. Belarus – “Olympic Reserve Center” and the “Brest” club. Among the foreign participants are the Iranian club “Golsapush”, “Malaysary” from Kazakhstan, and the 2021 African Cup winner team “Joff” from Senegal.

Vice-President of the Lokomotiv beach football club Lev Mazaraki noted the importance of the support of the event by the Moscow Sports Department, thanks to which the Moscow International Beach Football Cup is being held in the capital for the second year in a row and expanding its geography.

“This time, teams from Iran, Senegal, as well as from fraternal Belarus and Kazakhstan took to the field with our players. This is no coincidence. Sport today is becoming one of the main bridges of friendship and partnership, connecting the peoples of different countries. I am confident that our tournament will have a beneficial effect on the process of strengthening cooperation between the member countries of the SCO and BRICS,” emphasized Lev Mazaraki.

In its work, PFC Lokomotiv pays a lot of attention to teaching children. At the initiative of Lokomotiv, a children’s tournament was held as part of the Cup, the participants of which were athletes from Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, the Stavropol Territory, the Yaroslavl region and the Republic of Belarus.
