In order to increase the reading level of Ecuadorians, it is vital to better teach grammar and spelling in schools and colleges. In addition, more literature fairs should be organized where students would be encouraged to read.

A person must feel enthusiasm when he understands what a book says or understands the author of a poem when he reads his publications; Well, that way the reader, whether a student or not, will be more interested in reading, which could cause the emergence of many new Ecuadorian writers and poets in the future.

Furthermore, the Ecuadorian people need to change the teaching at the general level, in a more practical way, but with enough foundations for comprehensive development, and it would be a good start if it is based on reading and other well-established basic knowledge, let’s say with good Ecuadorian professionals at the general level . First of all, reading from home should be encouraged. Parents should be their children’s main guides who will motivate and encourage them to create healthy habits, such as reading.

On the other hand, schools and colleges could innovate education with reading programs, through which young people can choose a book they like, and then analyze and discuss it with their peers. (OR)

Reading could be encouraged by reducing VAT on books to make their price more accessible to the general public. Book clubs in schools should include and allow books that students choose themselves. There should also be a safe place to exchange books. (OR)

I think that in order to increase the level of reading among Ecuadorians, the prices of books should be reviewed and the taxes with which they are sold should be reduced so that they are more affordable for everyone. Another good idea could be to promote book clubs with free or loaned books and make them public to increase openness. In addition, safe and reliable spaces for book exchange could be created; it would also be a good incentive so that we can all enjoy reading a lot more. (OR)
