For the first time after a three-year break due to the pandemic and against the backdrop of sanctions, an international cultural forum will be held in St. Petersburg. Preparations for the event are underway, applications are accepted until November 1, said the chairman of the organizing committee, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, as reported by Petersburg Vedomosti.
According to her, applications have already been received from 70 countries. Directors, actors, painters, writers, musicians and other cultural figures will come.
Delegations from the CIS, BRICS, and SCO countries will arrive in St. Petersburg. Participation will include heads of ministries of culture, representatives of the creative community, and political circles.
The ninth Cultural Forum will be held after a three-year break – from November 16 to 18. The main venues for the event will be the Main Headquarters, the Mikhailovsky Theater and the New Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. St. Petersburg residents can expect free tickets to exhibitions and performances.
As noted earlier, the program has three blocks – “Knowledge of history through culture”, “Artificial intelligence – a threat or benefit to culture” and “Traditional culture as the foundation for building a civilized society”.
Earlier, the city authorities reported that 100 million rubles would be allocated for the forum, the 78.ru TV channel reported.
