A new president is a big deal… which it shouldn’t be. You have to give it importance, but not that much! We believe that governments are the ones who make and break the state, and it shouldn’t be that way: they should just create a better environment for individuals and close organizations (family, business, neighborhood, etc.) to move society forward. Thinking the opposite is exactly the trap that politicians want us to fall into. I don’t believe in those expressions that you always hear: “new country, re-establishment, starting from scratch”, the country has existed for 200 years, and based on the virtues and flaws of the past, we have to create a better future.

We will have Noboa for 18 months and maybe another 4 years. I don’t say “young man” because I don’t care if he is young or not. There are young and old who can be equally good or bad, corrupt or not, with or without good ideas, leaders or puppets. It is important that you consider some factors (and many others, and undoubtedly better ones).

1) Vision, leadership and will are needed before making concrete decisions. You cannot fall for the excuse that “politicians do not allow or the bureaucracy does not support”. Nor that there are “bad advisers or ineffective ministers”. They are all obstacles, but they can be overcome with leadership.

2) Don’t create excessive expectations, just push the best you can in such a short time.

3) It is very difficult not to fall into the vanity of the government, which distorts visions and decisions. The one who thinks “I won’t fall” is the most prone, because he neither understood nor prepared for it. Perhaps the most important “companion” for the president is the one who will tell him the truth, despite the constant praise of his closest circle. Be careful: that person cannot be your wife or your mother or father.

(…) let’s not talk about dollarization anymore because it will undoubtedly continue… common sense in terms of debt.

4) The need to seek consensus on important issues (not submission as Conaie wants). In some cases solve them, in others (at least) prepare the ground. Issues such as the labor market, social security or subsidies, and the most controversial are fuels. For that, it is necessary to listen to those who think differently, and not to believe that society can be promoted only with one’s own vision.

5) Government actions with a clear goal: to improve the lives of citizens through employment (which is achieved only indirectly) and peace (at least security and a better health system).

6) Face uncertainty: a huge obstacle to development, experts will know the best way. And with that the transformation of the judiciary, disastrous because it is dominated by gangsters and politicians.

7) Prudent government management with prioritization of spending, not “taking more money out of our pockets”. With more than HRK 40,000 million in spending, priority can be set. Promote oil and mining. Concessions on highways (promotion of the Quito-Guayaquil highway) and other areas. Depoliticize society: transfer responsibilities and remove so many obstacles in everyday life (at least some).

8) The above would help reduce risk, to which we add three key questions. First, let’s not talk about dollarization because it will undoubtedly continue. Second, common sense when it comes to debt. Third, don’t take international reserves.

9) Specify agreed trade agreements.

A real challenge! (OR)
