The abolition of the visa, which allowed one to reset their period of stay in the country by crossing the border, also applies to citizens of the EAEU countries, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry clarified. In addition to Kyrgyzstan, the association includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia.

Thus, the department commented on reports in the Kyrgyz media that the abolition of visaran does not affect Russians.

“Citizens of these states stay on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic without the need to obtain permits for a period not exceeding 90 days during each 180-day period from the date of entry into the country,” the ministry said. In order to stay in the republic longer, you will have to obtain documents: registration at the place of stay, residence permit, temporary residence permit, and so on.

On the abolition of the practice in which foreigners regularly travel abroad and return back to extend their stay in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan on October 17. Instead, the authorities introduced the “60/120” mechanism: when using a visa-free regime for up to 60 days, re-entry is possible only 60 days after the previous departure from Kyrgyzstan. A similar scheme applies to visa-free travel for up to 90 days.
