Business Insider: Musk may block social network X in the European Union

Social network X, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, may be blocked in the European Union. This was reported by Business Insider, citing sources.

According to media reports, Musk himself admits the possibility of blocking. He has already discussed this option due to the new EU law on digital services – the Digital Service Act, DSA, which strengthens control over the activities of “particularly large” online platforms. TitTok, YouTube, Google, Amazon Store and others also fall under this category. It is noted that the priorities under the new law are the protection of children and the fight against disinformation, including “pro-Russian propaganda,” writes News.ru.

According to media reports, Musk is dissatisfied with the project and is exploring ways to make his application unavailable in Europe. Moreover, the billionaire has repeatedly contacted the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, to find out what measures should be taken by the social network to comply with the requirements of the DSA. However, the businessman is still not satisfied with the situation; he is ready for drastic decisions, the media notes.

The publication also recalls that Breton previously accused Elon Musk of disinformation and disseminating illegal content on the issue of the conflict in Israel. In response, Musk asked for examples of violations.
