The reason was, among others, the film market is in a post-pandemic crisis, the premiere took place in February 2022. What a surprise it was when crowds showed up in theaters, and it ultimately earned a spectacular $400 million. This was undoubtedly influenced by the star cast, including Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas in the main roles. However, the reviewers did not share their admiration. Why?
The initially assumed production budget increased from USD 80 to USD 120 million, and yet, according to many, the potential of these opportunities was not fully exploited. that it does not stand out for its originality and is a rather average picture. Therefore, you can “watch it without pain”, but it was emphasized that it is a poor version of “Indiana Jones” or a not very successful equivalent of “Lara Croft”. However, this did not discourage the purchase of a license to distribute this production. “Uncharted” was added to the platform’s library, quickly gaining popularity among subscribers. For several days now, it has been in the top 10 most watched feature films in Poland.
