If Kyiv wants to end the conflict in Ukraine, then theatrical gestures on its part are not enough. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this during a press conference in Beijing.
“If the Ukrainian side really wants a negotiation process, then it should be done not with some theatrical gestures, but the first thing to do is to cancel the decree of the President of Ukraine prohibiting negotiations,” Putin said.
He also added that in Ukraine they are increasingly thinking about the negotiation process. “This is a transformation in the right direction, I praise it for this, but it is not enough,” the Russian President emphasized.
Putin also touched on the situation on the battlefield. According to him, Kyiv has long announced an offensive in the Kherson direction, but there is no result, but there are losses. In addition, the president commented on the supply of American ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. According to him, they cause harm and create an additional threat, but the Russian Federation will be able to repel such attacks. Putin called the supply of ATACMS to Ukraine “a mistake of the United States.”
Let us remind you that Putin is on a two-day visit to China. He held meetings with the leaders of six states, and also took part in the “One Belt, One Road” forum and talked with the head of the PRC.
