In the event of a full-scale war between nuclear powers, the scale of this conflict will be incomparable with the military operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this in an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
The Russian leader, however, called “nonsense” information about the possible preparation of the United States for the simultaneous waging of war with Russia and China. “If they want to fight with Russia, then this is a completely different war. <…> I don’t think that this could occur to people in their right mind,” the head of state emphasized.
He added that, unlike the West, Russia and China do not create military alliances. The President emphasized that Moscow is building mutually beneficial bilateral relations with China, increasing economic cooperation.
“We are not uniting with China into some kind of military-political alliance, but it is the Americans who are doing this,” Putin noted, explaining that the United States and other Western states “are constantly creating an ‘axis’.” At the same time, the United States is forcing its allies to worsen relations with Russia and China, the Russian leader added.
According to him, the United States is deliberately pushing towards confrontation with the PRC and the European Union, which “trade with the PRC is growing at a rapid pace.” “They (Europeans – ed.) do not want to spoil relations with China. But the Americans are pushing them there,” the Russian President noted.
