In the northern capital from December 10 to January 10, an exhibition of contemporary St. Petersburg artists “Through the prospectus” is being held. It is an open cultural and educational project in which advertising stands can be used as showcases for sculptures and art objects. The exhibition will be held under the motto “Man is in the spotlight!”
“The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that in the very center of the city, outside the territories of museums and exhibition halls, it brought together authors working in various fields. The constructions used for the exhibition offer a rare opportunity to present the richest range of styles, techniques and materials, ”the organizers explain. The exhibition will cover all modern art trends – urban sculpture, small-scale sculpture, abstract objects and installations.
The exhibits are made in materials such as stone, wood, ceramics, metal and modern polymeric materials.
The exhibition is available around the clock and for everyone – showcase stands are inscribed in the architectural appearance of the city and do not interfere with the perception of the historical center of St. Petersburg. For artists, the arrow of Vasilyevsky Island, Bolshaya Morskaya Street and a section of Nevsky Prospect along Gostiny Dvor are available.
The organizers report that 15 showcases will be occupied by professional sculptors, five will be given to students and graduate students of specialized universities.
Most of the names are already known: sculptures by Dmitry Zhukov adorn the entrance to the Erarta Museum, Sergei Kondrashkin has held more than twenty personal exhibitions, Sergei Falkin’s works can be found in the Hermitage.
Recall that the first exhibition “Through the Prospect” was held in the Northern capital in 2020 – 11 sculptors took part in the exposition, which unfolded along Nevsky Prospekt.
