Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl confirmed her move to St. Petersburg. According to her, she arrived in the Northern capital a month ago, TASS reports.
“On September 6 I left Lebanon, on the 9th I arrived in St. Petersburg, and then went to Vladivostok. And on the 14th, I started working in person at the GORKI center (The Geopolitical Observatory for Russia’s Key Issues – ed.),” Kneissl said on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week.
The politician admitted that she was already accustomed to the rainy weather of the city on the Neva. Kneissl said the weather doesn’t bother her because she’s a big fan of rubber boots. St. Petersburg is a “beautiful city” and living in it is a privilege, Kneissl emphasized.
She claimed that the move was related to work necessity – the politician is one of the founders of the GORKI center, which exists on the basis of St. Petersburg State University. Kneissl explained that she could not continue her activities remotely.
Let us recall that the fact that Karin Kneissl left Austria due to threats became known in the summer of this year. At the end of May, the former head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry left the board of directors of Rosneft, where she held the position of an independent director.
We also add that in 2018, photos and videos from Kneissl’s wedding circulated around the press, to which Russian President Vladimir Putin was invited, among other guests. The dance of Kneissl and Putin caused great resonance.
