In the Northern capital, in the State Academic Capella, on December 10 at 19.00, the final round of the international music festival-competition named after Georg Ots. The laureates will be awarded on the same day.
The festival-competition takes place in the city from December 6 to 10. This year the vocalists competed in the Operetta nomination – they performed arias and duets from comic operas and operettas.
The artistic director of the festival is Zoya Tumanova-Rodman, and the chairman of the jury is People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Viktor Krivonos.
Due to the restrictions associated with COVID 19, the festival events are held online, video broadcasts of the competition tours and the Gala Concert of laureates can be viewed in the official information resources of the festival.
The final tour is allowed – admission is free.
Recall that the competition is named after the star of the world opera stage, People’s Artist of the USSR Georg Ots. The festival began its history in 2017, the jury consisted of agents and producers of European theaters. The winners of the previous years’ competition received roles in the Lyon National Opera (France), the Bavarian State Opera (Germany), the Hanover Opera House (Germany), the Bolshoi Theater in Geneva (Sweden) and others.
