An air alert has been declared in central and southern Israel, as well as in the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip. As the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Telegram, the country came under rocket fire.
“Over the last half hour, rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel,” the report noted. It also calls on residents of the southern and central parts of the country to stay close to protected areas and follow instructions.
The IDF also reported that “several terrorists with firearms entered Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip.”
The Jerusalem Post, citing Israeli doctors, reports that one rocket hit the Gederot Regional Council building, killing a woman in her 60s. Several people were also injured.
It is planned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will soon hold a meeting with senior representatives of security forces.
It is clarified that the Israeli Defense Forces have already been put on alert. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a massive call-up of reservists.
Let us remind you that the Gaza Strip borders the southwestern part of Israel and is under the control of the Palestinian Islamist movement, which Israel accuses of terrorism and creating threats to its security.
