Nutritionist Margarita Koroleva criticized the harsh diets that many Russians go on to get in shape before the New Year holidays.
“Any hungry, half-starved programs lead to a decrease in immunity,” the physician warned, according to the “Moscow” agency, adding that “New Year is not a reason for tough diets.” The nutritionist called the New Year “a great reason to change your habits towards healthy ones.”
In particular, the specialist recommends that Russians forget about refined foods, foods with an excess of hidden salt, for example, cheeses, sausages, smoked meats, cans of pickles. “In conditions of excess fluid, it is very difficult to part with those extra pounds, but you can gain extra pounds very quickly,” explained Koroleva.
Instead of the usual delicacies, the physician urged Russians to find other dopamine support for themselves. “For example, skiing. Or just walking at a brisk pace will not only allow you to taste the aroma of active oxygen, but also energize your muscles, ”said the doctor.
Earlier, a nutritionist Koroleva warned about the consequences of eating New Year’s salads.
