11 teachers in the field of musical art from children’s art schools (DSHI), colleges and universities in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region became laureates of the Russian Ministry of Culture award for achievements in teaching activities based on the results of 2023.
Among the laureates, representing more than 50 regions of the country, are seven teachers of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, as well as teachers from the St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, St. Petersburg Children’s Art School named after M.I. Glinka, Okhta Center for Aesthetic Education and Children’s Music School in Vyborg.
“For the second time, on a competitive basis, we are celebrating the incredible contribution of teachers and presenting them with awards: 100 prizes of 500,000 rubles each for children’s art schools teachers, 25 college teachers and 25 university teachers – 1 million rubles each,” wrote the head of the Ministry of Culture Olga Lyubimova in her Telegram channel .
The awards were established by decree of the President of the Russian Federation in 2022. This year, 565 applicants were nominated for the competition: 71 from universities, 106 from colleges and 388 from Children’s Art School.
A special commission formed by the Ministry of Culture evaluated candidates according to three criteria: the presence of introduced proprietary methods in the educational process, student learning outcomes, experience of participation as a performer in creative events.
