The subscription fee for a package of cellular services in Russia increased in November this year by 2.4% against the previous month.
The average tariff for cellular services in November also increased and reached 391.6 rubles, which is 1.6% higher than in October this year, RBC reports, citing Rosstat materials.
As the agency notes, until November, tariffs for mobile services this year did not grow by more than 0.34% per month. At the same time, the last time an increase above 1% (immediately by 3.7%) was recorded by Rosstat in May 2020 – then from January to May the price tag soared by more than 10% – from 344.2 to 384.2 rubles.
Mobile operators began to raise fees amid accelerating inflation in Russia, which reached 8.4% per annum in November.
Let us also recall that in early October the Moscow Arbitration Court confirmed the legality of the decision and order of the FAS Russia in relation to T2 Mobile LLC. Prior to that, in May 2020, the company raised the cost of cellular services by an average of 12% for a quarter of its subscribers. This was due to the increase in operator costs.
However, the FAS admitted that T2 Mobile LLC set monopoly high prices for its services and issued an order to bring the tariffs up to the level before the increase.
