This year 190.5 tons of drugs have already been seized nationwide, a new record for the country, compared to the 120 tons seized in 2020. 70% of the seized drugs have been seized in Guayas, according to the National Anti-Narcotics Directorate.

Antinarcotics also announced this week that more than 30 clandestine tracks have been detected since 2003 in the country, most of them in the provinces of Manabí, Santa Elena and Guayas. This after a clandestine track was detected in Balzar and four people were arrested and later released.
