Stavropol corruption colonel Safonov with a “golden toilet” turned out to be the owner of 20 more houses

The head of the traffic police for the Stavropol Territory, Aleksey Safonov, who was involved in the scandalous corruption case with the “golden toilet”, found another 21 real estate objects and six cars, registered both for Safonov himself and for his relatives and friends. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov, adding that a number of subordinates of Alexei Safonov, who are in the same case as he, had assets worth hundreds of millions of rubles.

“In the near future, the court will consider our statement of claim on the conversion of the said property into state revenue,” emphasizes Igor Krasnov.

Aleksey Safonov was arrested in July this year in connection with a large-scale bribe-taking by a group of people. During a search conducted in Safonov’s house, it turned out that it was trimmed with gold from the inside, the rooms were furnished with inlaid furniture, a gilded sink and a toilet were installed in the bathroom. Safonov himself announced that the “palace” with the “golden toilet” did not belong to him, but to his common-law wife, and he did not choose the design for the mansion.
