A fraudster from Chita and his accomplices from the medical center sold fake QR codes for 5 thousand rubles

A resident of Chita entered into an agreement with two employees of the medical institution and organized with them a “business” selling fake QR codes. This was reported by the press service of the Russian MIA Administration for the Trans-Baikal Territory.

A 28-year-old man offered his friend, who worked in one of the city’s medical centers, a scheme to extract illegal income at the expense of citizens who want to purchase fictitious QR codes. She turned with a “lucrative” offer to a colleague who had access to a unified register of citizens who were vaccinated against COVID-19.

The organizer of the “business” searched for those wishing to receive a QR code without vaccination, transferred their personal data to his partners, who entered information into the register of vaccinated. At the same time, citizens who received fake codes did not visit a medical institution, did not undergo an examination and did not put a vaccine.

In total, about 30 facts of issuing fake QR codes were revealed. Each of the “clients” paid 5 thousand rubles to the bogus vaccinators.

A criminal case was initiated against three malefactors under part 1 of article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Forgery, production or circulation of forged documents.” In addition, the issue of bringing to justice the residents who used fake QR codes is also being resolved.
